This fall, District 58 teachers are participating in enhanced math professional development workshops led by the Metro Chicago Math Initiative. Teachers meet in grade-level clusters. In the morning, they participate in the training session, and in the afternoon, they break in groups to develop new strategies using skills learned during the morning.

The Board approved this opportunity over the summer, after teachers and administrators requested additional math professional development to enhance their instruction and understanding of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. District 58 teachers and administrators interviewed different providers before recommending Metro Chicago.
