Featured Job: Instructional Assistants
District 58 is hiring several instructional assistants for our elementary and middle schools. Instructional assistants work alongside teachers to help students realize their full potential. Work can include small group instruction, 1-on-1 support, classroom organization and more.
Instructional Assistant Benefits:

Instructional Assistant Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age
- Paraprofessional license. In order to obtain a paraprofessional license, you must have one of the following:
- Associate’s degree or higher
- 60 semester hours of coursework
- High School Diploma or GED and a score of 460 or higher on the ETS Parapro
- High School Diploma or GED and the following scores on the ACT Workkeys:
- Applied Mathematics/Applied Math (with a score of 4)
- Reading for information/Workplace Documents (with a score of 4)

Professional Learning

Location:
- District 58 is located in the vibrant suburban community of Downers Grove, IL, named one of America’s Friendliness Towns by Forbes Magazine.
- We are home to 11 small, neighborhood elementary schools and two middle schools. Our Grove Children’s Preschool is located at two schools.
- We have a family-like atmosphere in each school and the district as a whole. School board members, the superintendent and district administrators are friendly, familiar faces.
Health & Safety:
- Exterior doors are locked. Visitors have their identification scanned before they receive a visitor lanyard and gain access to the school.
- In 2022, voters approved a $179 million referendum to update and make our schools safer. This funding includes building more secure vestibules and adding other safety features to every school.
- Crisis drills and trainings are regularly conducted with staff and students.
- District 58 partners with the first responders to regularly review and update emergency plans.
