District 58 officially celebrated a major milestone for the community with ribbon-cutting ceremonies at Herrick and O'Neill Middle School, recognizing the completion of newly transformed, flexible learning spaces designed to support collaboration, creativity, and student engagement.

District 58 elementary schools welcomed families this week for Spring Open House, giving parents and caregivers a chance to tour classrooms, connect with teachers, and celebrate student learning in action.

District 58 student art projects were featured at the Illinois PTA Reflections State Showcase held April 18. Several projects earned state honors, with one advancing to the national level, to be announced in May.

District 58 elementary students had the opportunity to learn from acclaimed children’s authors during Author Fest 2026, held April 22–24. Through engaging presentations and interactive experiences, students explored the creative process and strengthened their passion for reading, writing, and storytelling.
