Dear District 58 Community,

Due to the expected winter storm, all District 58 schools will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 12 and students will have an e-learning day. All after-school activities and evening events on Feb. 12 will also be canceled.

As eager as we are to keep kids in school, the safety of our students and staff must be our top priority. District 58 made this decision after consulting with the National Weather Service (NWS) and DuPage County school districts. The NWS issued a Winter Weather Advisory that forecasts several inches of snowfall coming tomorrow, with the heaviest snowfall expected between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. These expected weather conditions will likely have a significant impact on District 58’s afternoon dismissal and make travel extremely difficult.

Students will receive communication from their teachers and/or schools on how and when to connect and engage in e-learning. Families may also view the District 58 E-Learning Plan online.

Families and staff can learn more about how District 58 makes weather-related closure decisions at https://www.dg58.org/family-resources/winter

Please stay safe and warm.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kevin B. Russell

Superintendent of Schools
