The District 58 Board of Education will hold a Financial Workshop and Special Meeting on Monday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. at O’Neill Middle School, 635 59th St., Downers Grove, IL 60516. The public may also view the meeting remotely, via District 58’s YouTube account.
The agenda’s primary topic is a financial workshop presentation, in which District 58 administration will review the 2025-26 financial projections. Specifically, due to the absence of federal assistance/COVID relief funds, a decrease in revenue from the Illinois State Board of Education, and increased expenditures (primarily driven by inflation), they will share how the District will return to normal pre-pandemic operating procedures for the upcoming school year. The administration will recommend budget reductions for the 2025-26 school year that would address this projected budget shortfall and place the District on a sustainable path moving forward. Please note that no action will be taken at this meeting regarding the budget.
The agenda also includes the Board president’s report on a Board of Education vacancy.
