The District 58 Board of Education will hold a Regular Business Meeting on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024 at 7 p.m. at Belle Aire School, 3935 Belle Aire Lane. Please note: this is an updated location from what was previously communicated. This meeting was originally scheduled for the new Downers Grove Civic Center; however, this space is not yet completely ready for use.
The public may also view the meeting remotely, via the District’s YouTube channel.
The agenda covers many topics, including:
- A construction discussion focusing on two topics: 1.) allocating the District’s owner’s contingency to resolve Herrick’s unsuitable soils and 2) a look ahead at Phase II construction for summer 2025.
- A recommendation to approve an allocation of the owner’s contingency for Herrick’s soil enhancement solution.
- A recommendation to approve the reimbursable paid lunch cost for 2024-25.
- A recommendation to approve several policy updates.
- A recommendation to approve serious safety hazard designations for 2024-25. This allows students who reside within these designated areas to be eligible for fee-based bus transportation services, despite living within the 1.5 mile limit. The proposed designations are unchanged from last year.
