The District 58 Board of Education will hold a Regular Business Meeting on Monday, June 12, 2023, at 7 p.m. at Downers Grove Village Hall. The public may also view the meeting remotely, via the Village of Downers Grove’s YouTube page. After the meeting has concluded, the Village will process the video and send it to District 58 to be posted on the District’s YouTube channel.
The meeting agenda covers many topics, including:
- A public hearing on the proposed 2022-23 amended budget and a recommendation to approve the amended budget
- A presentation titled “Spring Data Spotlight,” which details student test results and climate and culture survey results
- An update and discussion on “Building for Success” referendum projects
- A recommendation to approve the appointment of Kelly Novotny as assistant principal at Herrick Middle School
- A recommendation to approve the appointment of Danielle Bongiorno as assistant principal at O’Neill Middle School
- A recommendation to approve the appointment of Michelle Kovar as the new Manager of Business Services
- A recommendation to approve a new writing curriculum, called Schoolwide, following an earlier presentation and public display of the texts
- A resolution appointing a DG58 board member as a non-voting member to the Downers Grove Plan Commission.
- A recommendation to appoint Assistant Superintendent of Business Operations Todd Drafall as the District treasurer July 1, 2023 and a surety bond related to the appointment
- A recommendation to approve agreements related to insurance and transportation
- A recommendation to approve an agreement with Assured Partners for benefits consulting
- Approval of donation agreements for Fairmount and Pierce Downer playgrounds
- A recommendation to approve the employee Wellness Incentive program
