Downers Grove Grade School District 58 congratulates its seven staff members who will retire at the end of the current school year. “Retirement celebrations are always a bittersweet moment,” said Superintendent Dr. Kevin Russell. “While it is sad to lose such talent in our District, we are very excited for the retirees to begin their next chapter.”
District 58 thanks its retirees for their numerous contributions and commitment to students and the school community. The retirees are:
- Matt Durbala, 18 years, O’Neill, Principal
- Rita Casper, 20 years, O’Neill, Instructional Assistant
- Jayne Yudzentis, 22 years, District Office, Assistant Superintendent of Personnel
- Julie Snisko, 22.9 years, Kingsley, Instructional Assistant
- Jane Ingersoll, 29 years, Herrick, Speech Language Pathologist
- Maria Velez, 22.5 years, District Office, Coordinator of Information Systems
- Deborah Stedman, 24 years, Herrick, ELA Teacher
- Joan Gard, 11.8 years, O’Neill, Instructional Assistant (not pictured)
On Friday, May 19, the Board of Education hosted a Retiree Luncheon to celebrate this year's retirees. Principals and administrators shared insights about each retiree and their impact on District 58. The retirees also talked about their time with District 58.
