Downers Grove Grade School District 58 earned eight awards combined in state and national communications contests. The District earned three awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) and five awards from the Illinois Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (INSPRA). These awards recognize District 58’s communications program as among the top in the state and nation.
“District 58 values its community relationships and works hard to produce relevant, accurate and helpful communications to keep our community informed on what’s happening in our schools,” said District 58 Superintendent Dr. Kevin Russell. “These national and state awards recognize our efforts, and I am very proud of our work.”
The national awards were announced in July and include two Awards of Excellence, the highest national award level, and one Honorable Mention. The state awards were presented by INSPRA during its annual Communications Contest award ceremony held Friday, Sept. 9. They include three Awards of Excellence, the highest award level, and two Awards of Merit. The following are details about the award:
