The District 58 Board of Education will hold a Community Conversation and Regular Business Meeting on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022 at Downers Grove Village Hall, 801 Burlington Ave. The Community Conversation with the Board will take place from 6:30-7 p.m. in the vestibule outside the Council Chambers, and the meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Current health department guidelines require all attendees to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status.
The public may also view the meeting remotely, via the Village of Downers Grove’s YouTube page. After the meeting has concluded, the Village will process the video and send it to District 58 to be posted on the District’s YouTube channel.
About the Community Conversation with the Board:
The Community Conversation with the Board is an informal opportunity for community members to speak directly with individual Board members regarding education issues important to them. No RSVP is required to participate.
About the Regular Business Meeting:
The meeting agenda covers many topics, including:
- A flag salute by Kingsley students, and a Kingsley presentation.
- A spotlight on winter assessment data.
- A recommendation to approve the transfer of $9 million from the working cash fund to the education fund; this money will be reimbursed once the school district receives its property tax payments.
- A recommendation to approve the purchase of iPads.
- A recommendation to approve a consulting proposal and bids for school masonry improvements for summer 2022.
- A recommendation to approve 2022-23 school fees.

How to make a public comment during the meeting:
The Board encourages public comment from the community. There will be an opportunity for in-person visitors to make a public comment. Members of the public may communicate with the Board at any time by emailing boe@dg58.org.
