No decisions have been made yet regarding school tomorrow
Dear District 58 Community,
This evening’s parent-teacher conferences will take place as scheduled. The District urges parents/guardians and staff to exercise caution and dress warmly when traveling to and from our schools this evening.
The National Weather Service forecasts that 5-12 inches of snow will fall in Downers Grove between this evening and tomorrow afternoon. District 58 is closely monitoring the weather and will decide whether to close schools tomorrow as soon as safely possible. Please know, extreme weather is very unpredictable, and District 58 may be unable to make a school closure decision until early tomorrow morning.
If schools are closed tomorrow, District 58 will email and call all families and staff and post a notification at www.dg58.org. District 58 will not contact the community if school is in session.
If schools are closed tomorrow, District 58 will use a snow day, and no remote learning will take place. District 58 would add one in-person instructional day to the end of the school year.
Families and staff can learn more about how District 58 makes weather-related closure decisions at https://www.dg58.org/family-resources/winter.
Please stay safe and warm.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kevin B. Russell
Superintendent of Schools
Downers Grove Grade School District 58
