Last night, the Downers Grove Grade School District 58 Board of Education appointed Susan Dillon to the preschool coordinator position for Grove Children’s Preschool, effective immediately. Dillon replaces former Preschool Coordinator Jackelyn Cadard, who recently was appointed to District 58’s special programs coordinator position.
“The preschool coordinator interview process comprised several rounds of team interviews,” said Superintendent Dr. Kevin Russell. “The interview teams described Ms. Dillon as passionate and knowledgeable about early learners. They were particularly impressed with the breadth and depth of her educational experiences within the field. I am very excited to welcome Ms. Dillon to Grove Children’s Preschool, and I am confident she will be a great addition to our team!”
Dillon previously served as the special education/early childhood case manager for Woodridge School District 68. In this role, she supervised the early childhood program and oversaw self-contained and resource special education programming. Before this role, she was a special education coordinator for the Kendall County Special Education Cooperative, a resource teacher for Elmwood Park School District 401, and the director of St. John’s Preschool in Naperville.
Dillon earned a master’s degree in School Leadership & Administration from Benedictine University, a master’s degree in Early Childhood Development from Boston College, and a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Providence College.
“I am very excited to join the Grove Children’s Preschool and District 58 team!” Dillon said. “I appreciate District 58’s strong focus on early childhood education, and I’m looking forward to serving our youngest learners, their families and our staff.”
