Dear District 58 Staff and Families,
I hope this email finds you well and that you are staying healthy and safe during Spring Break. As I have stated before, the events of the last few weeks have been unprecedented. We have met this challenge head on, and I would like to personally thank all of you for pulling together to care for one another. While our buildings have been closed for on-site learning by the Governor through April 30, I am proud to report that our schools will remain open for off-site learning.
Prior to spring break, we committed to sharing information about our learning plans going forward by April 1. Having received guidance from the Illinois State Board of Education on the evening of March 27, and having heard from Governor Pritzker yesterday about the suspension of on-site learning through April 30, we have developed our new Remote Learning Plan, which we are eager to share with you (click on the link below).
District 58 Remote Learning Plan
I would like to once again thank you for your partnership during this difficult time. I recognize that assisting students with remote learning is challenging. We recognize that every child and every family’s situation is unique during these weeks, and the District is committed to remaining flexible to support you. We are all in this together and I could not be more proud to lead District 58. Please stay safe and take care of one another.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kevin Russell
Superintendent of Schools
