Update: District 58 schools closed through at least April 7

Downers Grove SD58 News

Good Afternoon District 58 Staff and Community,

This afternoon, Governor J.B. Pritzker announced that all Illinois schools will remain closed through Tuesday, April 7. However, this date may be extended depending on how the COVID-19 pandemic evolves.

At this time, District 58 will continue the e-learning schedule planned for next week, and spring break will take place as scheduled.

In the coming days, our District’s administrators, teachers and support staff will collaborate on our emergency e-learning plan, carefully considering how we will continue to provide students with learning opportunities beyond spring break, especially if the closure extends after April 7. We will partner with the Governor's Office, the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), local health agencies, educational associations and nearby school districts to ensure our future plans meet the needs of our greater community.

We will send an updated communication by April 1 with details on how our plan will be extended through the new closure.

Please be assured our top priority is the health and safety of our entire learning community, and we appreciate your patience as we navigate these unprecedented times together.

Sincerely,

Downers Grove Grade School District 58
