The El Sierra Bobcats took a trip through the decades at the fifth annual Bobcat Dash on Friday, Oct. 4. Each of the stations during the dash represented a different decade that El Sierra has been open; the school is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. From doing the hustle at the 70s station to running from a real life Pac Man in the 80s, not only did students have a ton of fun but they got a history lesson as well.
The week leading up to the dash was filled with excitement with different daily dress themes like 'get your feet ready for the race with crazy socks' and 'dress like the year 3000'!
Students also spent the week getting ready for the school’s annual Caine’s Arcade. Caine’s Arcade is a national program that encourages creativity and ingenuity by designing their own arcade games using cardboard materials. While students waited for the dash to begin, their cardboard games were open for business.
In addition to all the fun, the Bobcat Dash is also one of the school PTA’s biggest fundraisers with students getting over $10,000 in pledges this year. Thank you to the organizers, participants, and supporters of this great tradition at El Sierra.
