The 50th Anniversary Celebration of El Sierra Elementary School was a smashing success this past Friday, Sept. 6, with over 500 people attending. Attendees toured the school during the first hour of the event. Former students and staff reminisced about how the building has changed over the years, while current students loved showing off their classrooms, and even future Bobcats enjoyed exploring the rooms they will soon call their own!
A large crowd gathered for the unveiling of a time capsule from students in 1993, which included student work, popular magazines, and other neat mementos of Bobcats past. For the last two hours of the event, attendees enjoyed a variety of activities outdoors including sweet treats from an ice cream truck, a bounce house, face painting, a band, a magician and many community booths.
While all of the activities at the event were free to participants, the El Sierra PTA’s Playground Committee did receive donations from generous community members in attendance. If you’d like to help future Bobcats have a safe, fun place to play, you can visit our El Sierra PTA website to learn more. https://sites.google.com/view/el-sierra-pta/
The El Sierra PTA would like to thank all of those attended the event and a special thank you to our community sponsors including Zach Frazier Orthodontics, Breakaway Basketball, Moon Jump, Peter Krouwer, and Lou Malnati’s.
