Support District 58 schools at Downers Grove Oktoberfest Sept. 13-14

Downers Grove Grade School District 58 invites the community to attend the sixth annual Downers Grove Oktoberfest on Friday, Sept. 13 from 3-11 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.! The festival will take place in downtown Downers Grove, in the Forest parking lot just north of the public library. Oktoberfest will feature national headliner Vince Neil on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 9:30 p.m. Vince Neil, the legendary front man of Mötley Crüe, is an international superstar, accomplished businessman and heartfelt philanthropist. His unmistakable voice leads some of the greatest rock songs of a generation including “Wild Side,” “Shout at the Devil,” “Home Sweet Home,” “Girls, Girls, Girls,” “Dr. Feelgood,” “Kickstart My Heart,” “Same Ol’ Situation” and many others.  Mötley Crüe’s epic 34‐year run included countless multi‐platinum releases, more than 22 hit singles, 100 million albums sold and dozens of global tours with sold out arenas, inclusive of some of the largest venues in the world.  

In addition to Vince Neil’s performance, Oktoberfest will feature several renowned local bands and an authentic German polka band. Performers include ARRA, North of Eight, Tarra, Tina Messmer-King, Dave & John Acoustics, and Frank K & Company, among many others. Oktoberfest will offer traditional German fare and beverages, as well as a Kids Zone, kids karaoke, a high school brat-eating contest and a donut-eating contest.

Oktoberfest celebrates the approaching fall season, while raising money to support District 58 schools.

On Friday (all day) and Saturday before 6 p.m.,Oktoberfest is free for children (ages 0-13 with paying adult), volunteers, active military and veterans with military ID. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens (55+) and teenagers (14-17). The Kids Zone costs $5 for children.

The entry fee will increase to $25 on Saturday after 6 p.m. for all ages, and all Saturday evening general admission tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be no re-entry granted after 6 p.m.
