Today is the first day of school for returning teachers! We kicked off the school year at Benedictine University with keynote welcomes from Superintendent Dr. Kevin Russell, Board President Darren Hughes, DGEEA President Craig Young and Education Foundation Past President Elizabeth O'Toole. Plus, Asst. Superintendent for Personnel Dr. Jayne Yudzentis introduced our fantastic new teachers/admins and celebrated staff who reached their 20, 25, 30 and 40-year service milestones! Today is the only day each year when all of our teachers are under one roof, so it's a very special occasion!
After this morning's kickoff, teachers split up into classrooms for an INTENSE day of professional development and collaboration. Topics include: new science resource exploration, Seesaw communication, 1:1 learning, building collaboration and more!
