Downers Grove Grade School District 58 is pleased to announce the appointment of Rozana Qirjaqi to the English learner coordinator and English learner teacher position, effective Aug. 12, 2019.
In her new role, Qirjaqi will coordinate District 58’s Biliteracy Program and English learner services as the District’s English learner coordinator. She will also serve as an English learner teacher.
“We are thrilled to recommend Ms. Rozana Qirjaqi for the position of English learner coordinator and teacher,” said Superintendent Dr. Kari Cremascoli. “Our team was immediately impressed with Ms. Qirjaqi’s warmth and personability, her child-centered approach, and her ability to provide meaningful support to teachers in both our EL programs as well as general education.”
Qirjaqi currently serves as the director of English learners and bilingual services at Chicago Ridge School District 127.5 and Palos School District 118. She was previously a transitional bilingual education teacher at North Palos School District 117 for eight years. She has also served as a teacher mentor and a Spanish teacher. She twice has presented at the Annual Bilingual Conference in Oak Brook.
Qirjaqi earned a post-masters education specialist degree in administration and supervision and a master of arts degree in curriculum and instruction with a bilingual education concentration endorsement from National Louis University. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish language and culture and secondary education (K-12 certification) from North Central College. She also is endorsed to teach gifted education by the South Cook ISC and has pursued continuing education classes from Augustana College.
