Each month, Herrick’s PRIDE Program recognizes three students from seventh and eighth grade for exhibiting the PRIDE attributes: Polite Respectful Individuals Doing Extra. When interviewed, this year’s PRIDE Award winners added that PRIDE students are also kind, respectful, hard-working and attentive in class.
This week, the school celebrated all PRIDE winners by inviting them to a leadership workshop led by Second City. During the workshop, the students learned improv and practiced speaking, communication, listening and other integral skills to leadership development. They finished the workshop by performing their own improv.
Herrick Librarian Jeff Berger said that the PRIDE Award is given to students who are emerging leaders. He hopes the workshop will help these students craft their leadership skills and empower them to become school leaders in the future.
Congratulations 2018-19 Herrick PRIDE Award winners!
