Downers Grove Grade School District 58 congratulates the 40 fifth and sixth graders selected to participate in the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA)’s All-State Elementary Chorus on Saturday, Jan. 26 in Peoria, Illinois. This annual event brings some of the state’s most talented elementary choral students together.
The students rehearsed in the morning with their fellow peer vocalists and nationally-renowned conductors. In the afternoon, the entire ensemble performed at the Peoria Civic Center. District 58 students were selected by their participation in the Downers Grove Children’s Choir and with a music teacher recommendation.
District 58 music teachers directed extra choir practices for the ILMEA students during the weeks leading up to the performance. Congratulations to this year’s District 58 ILMEA All-State Elementary Chorus participants:
