The Illinois Music Education Association, or ILMEA, selected 28 Downers Grove Grade School District 58 students to perform in its upcoming music and jazz festivals this November.
Twenty-seven of the students will perform in ILMEA’s District 1 Junior High Music Festival on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Lincoln-Way Central High School. In addition, one District 58 student will perform in the ILMEA District 1 Jazz Band Festival on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Hinsdale Central High School.
The ILMEA Festival takes place each year and features talented musicians from District 1, which includes students from 50 participating schools in the surrounding area. The students audition for the chance to perform in concert.
