District 58 congratulates the Herrick and O’Neill students who excelled at the recent U of I Extension /4-H Robotics Challenge!
Herrick’s Robotics Club teams took home two awards. Adam, Andrew, Zachary and Gavin won the Team Spirit Award, and Aiden, Charisse, Elisenda, Jonathan, Griffin and Finn achieved the Most Creative Award. In addition, their club’s sponsor, Science Teacher Jill Henry, received recognition for her five years serving as a 4-H Robotics Club sponsor.
O’Neill’s Robotics Club also won two awards: the Teamwork Award and the Judge’s Choice Award. The latter award is given to a team that most clearly explains their thought process for designing and engineering the robot. Congratulations to Clara, Ensara, Matthew, Katie, Megan and Colin for winning these awards!
