In honor of the upcoming Teacher Appreciation Week, the Education Foundation of Downers Grove District 58 invites families to give thanks to a special teacher or staff member with a donation to its Green Apple Teacher/Staff Recognition Program.
With each donation you make, the Education Foundation will send a specially-designed Green Apple Award card to the teacher or staff member you are honoring, with a custom message from you. Superintendent Dr. Kari Cremascoli and/or the school principal will hand-deliver all Green Apple Awards to their recipients. In addition, a photo celebrating the Green Apple recipient will be posted on the District’s Facebook page.
Your donation will support the Education Foundation’s programs, which include the Teacher Grants Program, the Distinguished Service Awards and Select 58, among others.
Green Apple donations and messages may be submitted online at http://www.58foundation.org/green-apple-awards. Please first click the “Green Apple Award” graphic, which will take you to an Eventbrite page to process your donation. Second, return to the Green Apple homepage and fill out the brief form with your name, email address, name of honored teacher/staff member, school and a personal message. This second step ensures that the award recipient is recognized.
All donations are tax-deductible. Please send questions to green.apple@58foundation.org. While the Green Apple Program is open year-round, if you would like your Green Apple Award to be hand-delivered before school lets out, please submit your donation by Friday, May 25.
