In only five days, O’Neill students rallied together and raised $6,658.10 to support the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, exceeding their fundraising goal of $5,000! To celebrate this achievement, the school held an assembly last week. The top student donors earned the opportunity to “pie” their favorite teachers in the face. Meanwhile, Principal Mr. Matt Durbala and Science Teacher Mr. Bobby Mueller shaved their heads in front of the entire student body.
“This fundraiser showed how once again, O’Neill students demonstrate tremendous generosity and empathy – important social-emotional learning skills – for children suffering from cancer,” said O’Neill Science Teacher Ms. Sarah Pinkus.
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a non-profit that supports childhood cancer research. Keep tuned later this week to hear how Lester and Fairmount also supported the St. Baldrick’s Foundation!
