All 13 schools in Downers Grove Grade School District 58 benefitted from a donation this fall from the Bonfield Express Foundation. The local charity donated $1,000 to each school, which will be used for additional educational resources as well as to recognize students who display extra effort and citizenship.
“The Bonfield Express benefits every single one of our schools and truly makes a difference for our students,” said Superintendent Dr. Kari Cremascoli. “We very much appreciate their generosity,” she said.
The Bonfield Express Foundation’s major fundraising effort is the popular annual Bonfield Express 5K run on Thanksgiving morning. It is a tradition enjoyed by many families, including Superintendent Cremascoli and her family. “It’s a favorite family tradition and a great way to kick off the Thanksgiving holiday. The event is made extra special by knowing that the Foundation gives back to our students and our community,” she said.
Bonfield Express Foundation Communications Committee Member John Macdonald said that the Foundation continuously explores ways to help educational programs in the community. “Our annual Bonfield Express 5K is a fun Downers Grove Thanksgiving tradition enjoyed by many families,” he said.
