The Illinois chapter of the National School Public Relations Association, or INSPRA, presented an award to Megan Hewitt, District 58 community relations coordinator, during its annual Communications Contest award ceremony on Friday, Sept. 15. District 58 received an Award of Merit for its in-house video “Getting Ready for Kindergarten in District 58.” The video outlines the goals of kindergarten, what a typical day looks like and what parents can do now to prepare their child for kindergarten.

The INSPRA Communications Contest annually invites school districts across Illinois to submit publications and projects for judging by a panel of communication experts. The judges use a rubric to evaluate each entry against professional communication best practices, and only the top scores receive awards.
