Last week, Highland second and fourth graders performed a humorous spring concert for their families. The program took inspiration from the popular Hans Christian Andersen tale, “The Princess and the Pea,” changing it to “The Principal and the Pea.” Through funny songs, the children told the story of students who dislike how their principal loves peas. They devise a plan to choose a new principal – a grownup who does not eat peas! In the end, they discover their new principal may not like peas, but is instead a fan of… Brussels sprouts!
