Belle Aire sixth graders use biomechanical engineering to design helmets

Downers Grove SD58 News

Tricia Miller, a Belle Aire sixth grade teacher, earned an Education Foundation of Downers Grove District 58 grant this school year for the "Put a Lid On It" kit. This resource teaches students how helmets work. Students use biomechanical engineering to design their own helmet for a crash test dummy. (Meanwhile, it also emphasizes the importance of bicycle safety!) Here are a few photos of the Mrs. Miller's sixth graders at work!
