Downers Grove Grade School District 58 announces that registration for its Summer School and Extended School Year programs will open on Wednesday, March 15 at 9 a.m.
To register for Summer School online, please visit https://www.dg58.info/SummerSchool. Scroll down to read the course information and click the “Register” button. Families who need assistance with registration or would prefer a paper registration format may please contact Melissa Jerves, summer school secretary, at 630-719-5860.
Summer school is open to students enrolled in public, private or parochial schools. However, to participate, students must live within the District 58 attendance area and be entering kindergarten through eighth grade.
Please register early, as space is limited. The registration deadline is Friday, April 14. Transportation is not provided.
District 58 will offer the following Summer School learning opportunities:
- Regular Education Summer School will take place Monday through Friday, June 15-July 7, from 8:15-11:15 a.m. at Henry Puffer School, 2220 Haddow Ave. Summer school offers classes on the following subjects: reading, math, art and kindergarten prep.
- Summer Orchestra and Band classes will take place Monday through Friday, June 15-July 7, from 8 a.m. to noon at Herrick Middle School, 4435 Middaugh Ave. The complete listing of classes is available on the registration website.
- Digital Gaming and Coding Exploration will take place Monday through Friday, July 5-18, from 8:15-11:15 a.m. at Henry Puffer School.

Additionally, District 58 offers Extended School Year programming for those students who are eligible through their IEP. This program will take place Monday through Friday, June 19-July 18, from 8:15-11:15 a.m. at Henry Puffer. For more information or to register for Extended School Year, visit https://www.dg58.info/SummerESY. Extended School Year registration is also due Friday, April 14.

District 58 and its partners will host additional summer learning opportunities besides the Summer School classes listed above. More information about these other opportunities – such as sports camps and library reading clubs – will be announced later this spring.
