See your District 58 Downers Grovetrotters play the Harlem Wizards
Mark your calendars for Sunday, Feb. 12! The world-renowned Harlem Wizards basketball team will return to Downers Grove Grade School District 58 for an evening that promises to be fast-paced, funny and family-friendly.
District 58’s very own community team, the Downers Grovetrotters, challenged the Harlem Wizards to a thrilling basketball game event. The fun will kick off on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. at Downers Grove South High School, 1436 Norfolk St.
This is the third time that District 58 has hosted the Harlem Wizards, and if history is any indication, fans will witness amazing basketball talent combined with hilarious comedy. The Harlem Wizards will awe the audience with a magical display of tricks, coordinated ball handling, fancy passing and aerodynamic athleticism combined with high-energy comedy and audience interaction. All the while, they will play the Downers Grovetrotters, a mighty basketball team comprising about 30 District 58 teachers, administrators, staff and community members, including El Sierra’s Mr. Jason Lynde, Indian Trail’s Mrs. Mallory Poe and Lester’s Mr. Patrick Donnelly.
All event proceeds will support the Downers Grove District 58 Education Foundation. General admission tickets cost $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Special reserved tickets in the front two rows cost $20, and courtside tickets with a Harlem Wizards meet and greet opportunity are $30.
Advance tickets may be purchased online at www.harlemwizards.com (click Schedule & Tickets) or with cash at the front offices of Realty Executives, 943 Maple Ave., and WFH Enterprises, 2506 Wisconsin Ave. Both businesses are located in Downers Grove.
Souvenirs will be available for purchase. Students who purchase a Wiz Kid jersey before the game will be invited to warm up with the Wizards and take a special photo with the players. The Wizards will also sign autographs for free after the game.
