Downers Grove Grade School District 58 thanks the Bonfield Express Foundation, a local charity, for donating $1,000 to each of its 13 schools this fall. The Bonfield Express Foundation made this donation to help the District recognize students who demonstrate a love of learning, extra effort and/or good citizenship.
“For the second consecutive year, District 58 and our students have benefitted from the kindness and generosity of the Bonfield Express Foundation, a wonderful Downers Grove charity,” said Superintendent Dr. Kari Cremascoli. “Thanks to their donation, our schools have purchased additional books and resources to enhance instruction, as well as educational prizes to recognize students who display extra effort and citizenship.”
The Bonfield Express Foundation’s capstone fundraising effort is its annual community Bonfield Express 5K. The race will take place on Thanksgiving morning in downtown Downers Grove.
“As a Downers Grove resident and a former District 58 teacher, I am incredibly proud that the Bonfield Express Foundation can support our local District 58 schools,” said Bonfield Express Foundation President Annette Bonfield. “Our annual Bonfield Express 5K is a fun Downers Grove Thanksgiving tradition enjoyed by many families. I encourage the entire community to participate this year!!”

“On a personal note, my family and I enjoy participating in the Bonfield Express race each year,” said Dr. Cremascoli. “It has become one of our favorite Thanksgiving traditions, as I know it is for so many members of our community. It is a great event and we are very proud to support the Bonfield Express Foundation each year!”
The Bonfield Express Foundation, named after the late Jim Bonfield, raises money to support local students who demonstrate Jim Bonfield’s character traits: personal perseverance, strong moral character, joy of learning and commitment to community.
