District 58 earns seven state awards and a national honorable mention for communications

Downers Grove Grade School District 58 recently received national and state recognition for its communications.

At the national level, District 58 received an Honorable Mention in the “Excellence in Writing” category from the National School Public Relations Association, or NSPRA. District 58 received this recognition for its December 2015 feature story, “Kate Nickell: Nothing is impossible anymore.”

At the state level, the Illinois chapter of the National School Public Relations Association, or INSPRA, presented seven communications awards to Megan Hewitt, District 58 community relations coordinator, during its annual Communications Contest award ceremony on Friday, Sept. 16. District 58 received INSPRA awards in the following categories:

Awards of Merit:

The INSPRA Communications Contest annually invites school districts across Illinois to submit publications and projects for judging by a panel of communication experts. The judges use a rubric to evaluate each entry against professional communication best practices, and only the top scores receive awards.
