Downers Grove Grade School District 58 will have four of seven School Board seats filled at the April 4, 2017 Consolidated Election. Incumbent members whose terms expire in 2017 are John Cooper, Roberta Diehl, Christopher Heppner and Sallie Lupescu.
Major changes were made to state law in 2015 regarding School Board candidate nominating procedures. Nomination papers are no longer filed with the school district but must now be filed with the DuPage County Election Commission, 421 North County Farm Road, Wheaton, Illinois 60187. Prospective Candidate Petition Packets are available at the Election Commission in Wheaton and on the Election Commission’s website at www.dupageco.org/Election. The DuPage County Election Commission can also be reached by calling 630-407- 5600.
The first day to begin circulating petitions is Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016. The period for filing nominating papers runs from Monday, Dec. 12 through Monday, Dec. 19, 2016.
