Earlier today, all Illinois school districts received updated guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) regarding the reopening of schools. This new guidance addresses a number of points including managing ill students and/or staff, face coverings and PPE and their use in special situations, how to identify close contacts, and alternative strategies for school closures, among other topics. The guidance is in a “FAQ” format and can be accessed by clicking here. District 58 is also awaiting additional guidance from the DuPage County Health Department later this week. A special Board of Education meeting will likely have to be held early next week so the administration can discuss this guidance with the members of the Board. In the meantime, administrators and staff will carefully review this new information and the impact it may have on our elementary school district. We wanted you to have this information as soon as possible. Please stay tuned for further information.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kevin Russell
Superintendent of Schools
