Middle School Math Courses
Foundations of Mathematics – 7th Grade (CC7)
This course is offered to seventh grade students who need extra support in math. This is the first year of a two-year program with a goal of learning at least the entire Common Core 7 curriculum over two years. Students will move at a slower rate than the regular common core class and have the opportunity to be retaught material where there may be gaps in mastery of concepts. The successful completion of this course will prepare students for Foundations of Math 8th grade (8th Grade) and then Foundations for Math 1 (9th Grade in District 99).
Foundations of Mathematics – 8th Grade (CC)
This course is offered to eighth grade students who need extra support in math. This is the second year of a two-year program with a goal of covering at least the entire Common Core 7 curriculum over two years. Students will move at a slower rate than the regular common core class and have the opportunity to be retaught material where there may be gaps in mastery of concepts. The successful completion of this course will prepare students for Foundations for Math 1 (9th Grade in District 99).

Common Core 7
This course is offered to seventh grade students. In this course, students will receive instruction on at least the concepts in the 7th grade Common Core Math curriculum. This is the on level math course for 7th grade in District 58. The successful completion of this course will prepare students for Common Core 8 (8th Grade) and then Math 1 (9th Grade in District 99).
Common Core 8
This course is offered to eighth grade students who have successfully completed Common Core 7. The course will learn at least the 8th grade Common Core Math curriculum. This is the on level math course for 8th grade in District 58. The successful completion of this course will prepare students for Math 1 (9th Grade in District 99).

Math B (40% of Common Core 8 and Math 1)
This course is offered to eighth grade students who have successfully completed Math A in seventh grade. This is the second year of a two-year accelerated math program offered in District 58. The course is a continuation of Math A in which students will learn at least concepts included in the Common Core 8 course and concepts in the freshman level Math 1 course offered in District 99. The successful completion of this course will prepare students for Math 2 or Math 2 Honors (9th Grade in District 99). This course will be discontinued after the 2022-23 school year.
Accelerated 7th Grade Math
This course is offered to 7th grade math students that have successfully completed accelerated math in 6th grade. The students will learn the 8th grade Common Core Math curriculum. During this course students will have a greater focus on the mathematical practices and the habits of mind. The successful completion of this course will prepare students for Math 1 (8th Grade) and then Math 2 or Math 2 Honors (9th Grade in District 99).
Accelerated 8th Grade Math
This course is offered to 8th grade math students that have successfully completed accelerated math in 7th grade. The students will learn the Math 1 Common Core Math curriculum. During this course students will have a greater focus on the mathematical practices and the habits of mind. The successful completion of this course will prepare students for Math 2 or Math 2 Honors (9th Grade in District 99).

Math 2
This course is offered to 8th grade students who have been double accelerated, and successfully completed the Math 1 curriculum at the conclusion of their seventh grade year. This course may be offered in District 58 or may be offered in District 99. The successful completion of this course will prepare students for Math 3 (ninth grade in District 99)
