A big part of why I became a teacher is...

before even realizing my mother was a teacher, I would gather local neighborhood children and play school. As you could imagine, I was always the teacher and my sister the student. Being a teacher was my always my dream job. I had many teachers over the years who encouraged me to follow my dream. My parents always told me that I could accomplish anything I set my mind and they made sure I received the education needed to do so.

When I am not teaching you can find me...

relaxing with a good book on the couch. Over the years I have found a love for nonfiction stories. I have always made an effort to take time from the busy day for family dinners. Even my college age daughter looks forward to family dinners when she is in town.

My favorite thing about Highland is...

driving down Highland Ave each morning knowing I will soon see my precious students. When walking into the building I truly feel at home and a sense of great peace. Highland School is not only a place of learning but a home away from home.
