The April 7 Communicate 58 features first full day of school photos and other District 58 news!

Superintendent Dr. Russell shares back-to-school reminders with the community.

The District 58 Board of Education held a Curriculum Workshop on Monday, March 22, 2021 at O’Neill Middle School and via YouTube livestream.

The March 24 issue of Communicate 58 features post-spring break schedule updates, math curriculum videos for parents, an assessment postponement and more.

District 58 is pleased to announce that it will offer students four Summer School sessions and the Extended School Year program this year!

The District 58 Board of Education will hold a Curriculum Workshop on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 7 p.m. at O’Neill Middle School

After spring break (4/7/21), District 58 will offer 5 day per week, full-day onsite instruction with lunch for all students whose families indicated in-person as the learning model choice. A full remote option will continue to be offered by the District.

The March 8 School Board meeting featured an El Sierra School presentation, enrollment/staffing planning spotlight, detailed Superintendent Report, appointment of a new Lester School principal, calendar and fee approval, and more.

Superintendent Dr. Russell outlines the steps District 58 is taking to safely increase the school day more quickly. New public health guidelines for schools may impact tentative plans.

The March 10 issue of Communicate 58 includes a Dr. Russell message regarding the instructional school day, the Lester principal appointment, revised 2020-21 calendar, approved 2021-22 calendar, National School Breakfast Week and much more!

Novosel, who currently serves as Lester’s assistant principal, will begin her new role on July 1, 2021.

It takes a community: District 58 needs 150 lunchroom supervisors to extend the school day. Please sign up to be a volunteer or paid lunchroom supervisor!

The District 58 Board of Education will hold a Regular Board Meeting on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 7 p.m. at Downers Grove Village Hall.

Congratulations to Herrick 7th grader Audrey (1st place), Herrick 8th grader Eva (1st place) and O'Neill 7th grader Taylor (2nd place) for placing in the DGJWC's Junior High Art Contest!

The Feb. 24 issue of Communicate 58 features a Dr. Russell message, the District 58 Legislative Forum, 2021-22 kindergarten information and much more.

District 58 students in grades 1-8 will see an increase in instructional time beginning April 7. Please read this message for details.

District 58 invites parents and guardians to take our annual School Environment Survey, now through March 26! It just takes a few minutes, and your feedback will support school improvement efforts.

The Special Meeting/Instructional Workshop will provide the Board and community with information regarding District 58’s learning model options for the remainder of 2020-21.

Due to extreme weather conditions, all District 58 schools will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 16, and we will have a traditional snow day. No remote learning will take place tomorrow. The day will be an official emergency day and will be made up at the end of the year.

Parent-teacher conferences will take place virtually on the evenings of March 9 and March 11.

District 58 invites families to take a survey regarding the District's instructional model. Your feedback will help inform the District's instructional planning for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year.
