It felt amazing to have all of our District 58 teachers back together during today's Teacher Institute Day kickoff at Benedictine University!
The sea of orange was no accident -- we encouraged staff to wear orange as part of our districtwide Orange Frog initiative to spread positivity and joy throughout our District.
The kickoff event featured remarks from our District leaders, including Superintendent Dr. Kevin Russell, DGEEA President Kathy Mahay and School Board President Darren Hughes. We also welcomed our 42 new teachers/admins and celebrated staff milestones.
Finally, we enjoyed a keynote presentation by Dr. Joe Sanfelippo, the superintendent of Fall Creek School District in Wisconsin. He shared a powerful message on building relationships and telling our schools' stories. There were many laughs and a few tears shed! Thank you, Dr. Sanfelippo, for sharing your wisdom with us!
The 2022-23 school year will be incredible. We can't wait to welcome the students this week!
