Fifth Grade Hillcrest Girl Scout Troop 50972 recently earned their Bronze Award, which is the third highest award that the Girl Scouts of the USA presents.
“They earned this distinction through increasing play in our community,” said Troop Leader Jennifer Haselhorst.
Troop 50972 visited a local business, Fair Game, to learn about fun new board games. They then hosted three game night events for younger scouts, their families and the community at the Downers Grove Library. The girls donated the games they purchased to the library to be used by the community. They concluded their Bronze Award activities by hosting a used board game donation drive at Hillcrest to benefit PADS and Family Shelter Services.
“We are so proud of these young ladies and the work they did to increase play in our community,” Haselhorst said.
