Student Council

Student council involves the whole school. They are a group of elected students who represent the student body. There are monthly meetings comprised of the student council officers (5th and 6th graders), leadership council (5th and 6th officer candidates) and grade-level room representatives. The students discuss and vote on school spirit days, fund raisers for the school and fund raisers for community groups.

Spirit Days:

Spirit days at Highland are fun! Some of our Spirit Days in the past have been Pajama Day, Wacky Hair Day, Be A New You Day, Hat Day. Student council votes on the Spirit Days that the children at Highland will enjoy throughout the year!

School Store:

Highland’s school store is open in the second half of the school year during the lunch recesses. Children may purchase school items like pencils, pencil grippers, folders, notebooks, pens, paper and erasers. Student council operates the school store.

Service Projects:

The student council is involved in many service projects which benefit many people both locally and globally. These projects take place throughout the year and reach a wide variety of organizations.
