This 5th/6th grade program stresses the importance of fitness and nutrition in making a healthy person. We play games or do drills and end each class by eating a healthy snack. While eating the snack we discuss current nutrition topics, like the Dirty Dozen (the top foods with the most pesticides.) The children have homework, where they go home and participate in exercises and healthy eating habits and record them on a sheet. Sometimes we take a field trip to Whole Foods or Dominicks and go over healthy eating.
