Fairmount School is a dynamic learning community where professional staff and parents work together to provide a positive environment for our students to learn and grow. Dedicated teachers and staff deliver a well rounded standards based curriculum in child-centered classrooms aimed at meeting the needs of all students.
Fairmount School has an active PTA which provides enhancements to our student’s overall school experience. Through their staunch efforts the PTA provides technological and curricular resources, cultural and fine arts programs, curricular based field trips, as well as special school and community events.
The faculty and staff at Fairmount value the partnership that we have with our parents and the PTA in providing a positive school experience for our students. We hope this website will give our parents insight into our school’s programming, provide timely information, and foster effective communication.

How does District 58 communicate emergency closure information? When a decision is made to close school due to inclement weather, the District will send automated voice and email messages to all parents via its SchoolMessenger notification system. The system will also send text messages to parents who have registered to receive texts. To register to receive a text message you can opt into the system by texting YES to 68453. District 58 also posts school closure information at www.dg58.org, on Facebook, Twitter and on the District's answering machine at 630-719-5800.The District also notifies major news radio and network televisions stations. Finally, school closures are listed at www.emergencyclosings.com. Student safety is District 58's top priority. The District also understands that canceling school is inconvenient for students, teachers and parents. A decision to close school is based on many factors. Our Superintendent, Dr. Cremascoli, consults with a variety of resources -- weather forecasts, neighboring superintendents, the bus company and the district's buildings and grounds teams -- to make an informed decision. The superintendent will make a safety based decision as early as possible
